Day 9

30 Day Challenge - Day 9

Forgiveness in Betrayal

Have you ever experienced betrayal? Jesus did. John 13- 18 recounts the story well.

Jesus knew Judas had already betrayed Him by agreeing to hand Him over to the religious elites.

Jesus didn’t get angry. He washed Judas’ feet.

Jesus didn’t throw a fit in rage. He ate dinner with Judas.

Jesus didn’t get revenge. He prayed for Judas.

Jesus didn’t get frustrated. He forgave Judas.

Jesus didn’t allow his emotions to interfere with God’s plan. Full submission to the will of the Father was what he chose instead.

I Corinthians 11:23-25 NKJV

“…the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

On the same night Jesus was betrayed He took bread and gave thanks!

Jesus not only gave us communion in this scripture, but a lesson of giving thanks even in betrayal. Let’s not allow betrayal to destroy our future. Don’t let betrayal disrupt the plan of God for your life.

As you receive communion, choose to be thankful in spite of betrayals that have come. We thank God that nothing can separate us from His love!

Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
