Day 11

30 Day Challenge - Day 11

Deliver You With an Outstretched Arm

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel … ‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.” Jeremiah‬ ‭27:4-5

God created earth and man and beast by His great power and His outstretched arm. That is an intensely powerful arm!

‭‭‬‬

The children of Israel were slaves for nearly 430 years; so long that they weren’t sure where they would go if they could ever leave.

Then God instructed Moses in Exodus 6:6: “Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.”

When the Israelites walked out of Egypt they felt free until the Red Sea was in front of them and Pharaoh’s army was approaching from behind.

In Exodus 14:16 “The LORD said to Moses … ‘Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”

Throughout the centuries that followed, the Israelites would say: “So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭26:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

God always keeps his promises. Quite often, it’s not exactly how we anticipated.

When Jesus died for our redemption from sin, sickness and bondage, He redeemed us with outstretched arms - on the cross.

Luke‬ ‭23:34‬ ‭TPT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ reads:

“While they were nailing Jesus to the cross, he prayed over and over, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing.”

‭‭

When centurions tied his arms to the crossbeams, Jesus prayed, “Father, forgive them.” When the spikes tore through each of his wrists, he prayed, “Father, forgive them.” When insults and accusations were hurled, He prayed, “Father, forgive them.” Only God knows how many times he uttered that prayer.

When we turn to him, he welcomes us with outstretched arms.

As you receive communion, remember God always fulfills His promises. His plan for our redemption was beyond anything you could have imagined. We receive complete forgiveness, healing and wholeness in every area through the body and blood of Jesus.
